Defense of the ANCIENT

Everyone starts small in this twilight zone,
A shallow river halves the land alone.
The south displays the green vegetations,
The plagued north exhibits abominations.

Being strong, intelligent, or agile,
Supportive, destructive, selfish or vile.
Everyone has a common goal to kill,
Some even wear the helm of iron will.

In this battlefield the two forces clash,
Would you conjure, go unseen, heal or bash?
Hone your skills to protect the tree of life,
Increase your level for the throne of ice.

Earn it hard to achieve perseverance,
Take it higher and aim for the radiance.
If staying alive is your finest goal,
Assemble the three points to boost your soul.

The branches made of iron make me strong,
Everyone’s sleeping by the siren song.
Blink and reach places you never have been.
Never turn your back on an assassin,

Toughness measured through flames, arrows and blades,
A vanguard brings a man to tell the tales.
Do a lot something more due to brilliance,
Move swiftly and freely with endurance.

Attacking from the distance is easy,
Rifle, bow and arrow aimed and ready.
Deny your army to render them weak,
Harass your foes to be wicked and sick.

The light seeks the darkness’s banishment,
The fallen black huntress seeks atonement.
With ethereal body she seeks revenge,
Fortitude gives the brute a double edge.

A lone warrior releases his torrent,
A malicious soul lives by the torment.
When the night falls the land becomes his stage.
Would you die in rupture or die in rage,
The spectre haunts when you’re running away,
Meld with the environment, wait and stay.
Protect your allies with shields and barriers,
Aid the heroes with fast moving couriers.

Illuminate the path to clear it out,
Hear them scream in agony, hear them shout.
Collect the bounty from their heads and souls,
Consume healthy trees when your life force falls.

There are three paths to the enemy base,
Knowledge, cunning, or brute force are some ways.
Push the middle and directly attack,
When everything goes bad, flee and move back.

Use fire to scorch your opponents with ease,
Ice to slow their movement and freeze in peace.
Tremble the earth, shock your foes in peril,
Lightning from above will strike down evil.

Purchase artifacts from the secret store,
Claim and destroy their structures to earn more.
The woods have eyes and ears so touch them not,
Forces of nature interfere with wrath.

Each antagonist has their weaknesses,
Every item grants powers and curses.
This war brings endless possibilities,
Real life and time are the only casualties.

Dota wikipedia,

Defense of the Ancients (commonly known as DotA) is a custom scenario for the real-time strategy video game Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos and its expansion, Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne, based on the "Aeon of Strife" map for StarCraft. The objective of the scenario is for each team to destroy the opponents' Ancients, heavily guarded structures at opposing corners of the map. Players use powerful units known as heroes, and are assisted by allied heroes and AI-controlled fighters called "creeps". As in role-playing games, players level up their heroes and use gold to buy equipment during the mission.
  • The scenario was developed with the "World Editor" of Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos, and was updated upon the release of its expansion, The Frozen Throne. There have been many variations of the original concept; the most popular being DotA Allstars, which eventually was simplified to DotA with the release of version 6.68.[3] This specific scenario has been maintained by several authors during development, with the current publicly anonymous developer known as "IceFrog" developing the game since 2005.
  • Since its original release, DotA has become a feature at several worldwide tournaments, including Blizzard Entertainment BlizzCon and the Asian World Cyber Games, as well as the Cyberathlete Amateur and CyberEvolution leagues; Gamasutra declared that DotA was perhaps the most popular "free, non-supported game mod in the world". Valve Corporation is currently developing a sequel, Dota 2.
